Quick Oats with Berries, Chia and Maple Syrup Recipe
A good breakfast doesn’t have to take forever to cook. Oatmeal makes a great, fast standby, and quick-cooking steel-cut oats cook in the microwave in just three minutes – the ultimate speedy breakfast! The berries provide anti-inflammatory antioxidants, and the chia seeds add an omega-3 boost.

Ingredients
- ½ cup quick-cooking steel-cut oats
- ⅔ cup water
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- ½ cup fresh blueberries or blackberries
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
Method
1. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the oats and water.
2. Microwave on high for 3 minutes or according to oatmeal package directions.
3. Top with chia seeds, fresh berries, and maple syrup.
Variation
If the weather’s too hot for hot oatmeal, make cold overnight oats with this recipe. Put all the ingredients in a glass dish with a lid, substituting ⅔ cup of milk of choice for the water. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight. Breakfast is ready when you wake up!
