Cooking time
30-40 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 apples
- 300g fresh blackberries
- 90g ground almonds
- 100g coconut flakes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp raw honey or 2 tsp coconut sugar (optional)
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 90g chopped walnuts
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
2. Slice the apples and remove the cores. Layer the apples and blackberries in a loaf tin.
3. Place the ground almonds and coconut in a bowl with the butter, honey and cinnamon.
4. Using your hands, rub the fat into the ground almonds and coconut until the mixture has the consistency of breadcrumbs. Add the chopped walnuts and stir together with a spoon.
5. Place the crumble mixture on top of the fruit. There should be a 1cm layer. If there are any gaps, simply sprinkle with some extra desiccated coconut.
6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the crumble topping is golden brown and the fruit is soft.
