Q Why is supporting the environment so important to your brand?

A At Coyne Healthcare, we’re in the business of great health – not only for the public but the environment too. We’ve embarked on action aimed at reducing waste, lowering our carbon footprint and contributing to environmental regeneration and social change. We have invested into making “green thinking” an integral part of our company’s culture and of all the lives we touch.

Q How do you ensure your packaging is as sustainable/environmentally friendly as possible?

A All products are packed in eco-friendly, carbon-neutral 100 per cent FSC-certified recyclable or compostable packaging. We only use fully recyclable glass and print directly onto the bottle, reducing paper. We have successfully innovated to remove the standard plastic disc from all our caps, further ensuring the used bottles and caps can easily be recycled, thus eliminating this single-use plastic element. The inner synthetic sponges have been upgraded to pure organic cotton wool which is environmentally friendly.

Q Please tell us about any specific environmental initiatives you have in place.

A We plant a tree for every product sold and have partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects. This organisation supports local communities in Mozambique to help restore precious mangrove estuaries and forests. Members of surrounding villages are employed to restore, replant and protect the mangroves. We’ve committed to planting 20,000 trees per month – or 1.5 million in the next five years.
